Almost Famous ✨ Awards season might be over…

Almost Famous ✨ Awards season might be over… but I still feel like a winner 🏆 Thank you @thefamousgrouseusa for this special care package - a party in a box! - to share with all my friends. My house has been a construction zone for the past few months so it was nice to finally have seating again 😏 and our movable feast to get us all together again. 🥃 Cocktail Menu included a citrus punch with Scotch, Lemon, Lime, Honey Syrup and a touch of absinthe. 🥃 Of course there were pours neat and also ‘the Drew’ cocktail was ever present (Scotch + Amaro della Sacra) He would have loved that my name was on a bottle of Famous Grouse and would have immediately tried to figure out how to make bottles for everyone for Christmas. 🍸 Freezer cocktails, lots of riffs from @maggiejhoffman books 📚 🤓 ➡️ Swipe through to see how my brother @seewongrun reacted when I sent my siblings pictures of my bottle and glass… my family is the best. Also shoutout to @shakerandspoon for gorgeous mixers, bitters and garnishes 👏🏼 Bravo to you too

If you know me, you know I love industrial design.

If you know me, you know I love industrial design. Signage. Cars. Packaging. Ergonomics. and of course Chairs. So this set was extra special for me. These Eames molded Fiberglass chairs belonged to my uncles and needed some love. Stripped to their fiberglass from years in the elements outside, you needed gloves to handle them. But with the help of a community of family and friends, they were transformed. Taking their hue from a mirror that once hung in my childhood home, temporarily forgotten and now given new purpose, it currently welcomes visitors in the front entry of my own home. I was reminded this year of so many cycles of life. The small beginnings and endings and the big ones that leave cavernous holes or fill once missing ones. I find comfort in this tangible representation that what’s old is new again and that sometimes things I thought were lost can sometimes be reborn. Thinking of the chair’s former caretakers, and many I hold dear, who could use a little respite - a safe place to rest for a moment and lift their feet before settling in again. And those of us who have felt beat up this year by the elements and raw to the bone. May this new year bring you a new sunny coat of paint or a transformation that renews your delight in life. Happy New Year 🪑✨
